The summer months provide a great time to give hockey a go!
The best way to find an option near you is to contact your local association to see if they’re holding any of the following:
Hookin2Hockey run programs for children aged 5-10 years who aren’t quite ready to commit to a club for a full season. Associations stage the program in various formats throughout the year. Scroll down to the bottom of this page to email your association for more information. Alternatively, CLICK HERE to visit the HookIn2Hockey website to learn more about the program.
Summer Social Competitions are held by various hockey associations and clubs across Queensland. The game is played outdoors with modified rules and is a great way to keep fit and have fun over the summer months. The programs being held depend on the number of people playing. Scroll down and email your local association to find out if there will be a program that suits you this summer.
Indoor Hockey is played during the off-season with modified rules for players aged 5+. There are fewer players on a team compared to traditional field hockey, and the game is played in a sports hall or similar indoor venue. Indoor is a terrific way to get started in the sport, as well as a great way to keep playing over the off-season. For more information about the availability of indoor hockey in your area contact your local association via the email address provided below.
Get Into Hockey is Hockey Queensland’s sign-on campaign program that helps people aged 5 and up join a club for the regular March-September season. If you are interested in playing hockey in 2017, find a club near you by visiting our interactive map HERE.
